We Are In The Business Of Loving People

I am feeling so wonderful right now. Because I've had a thought brewing under the surface that bubbled over yesterday. I realized that I am in the business of loving people. And so are you...

Whether you are a stay-at-home mom, a marketing professional, an accounting professional, an astronaut, a salesperson, a singer, or a postal worker.

No matter what your J.O.B. is ... your real job. Your one true job. The reason you were born -- that job is to love the person standing in front of you. If you can do that, everything else will be wonderful! Why? Because you will feel so good!

This is fairly easy to do when the person standing in front of you is being kind. But what about when that person is being difficult? Is it still your job to love them?

Yes!!! Because if that person standing in front of you is being difficult, it is because they are lacking love. Whenever someone acts up or acts out, it is because they feel unloved. They are deflecting to try to protect themselves.

I witnessed so much love in the most unlikely place yesterday -- at the post office! For real! Usually, I dread going there, because of poor attitudes and service by the employees. But yesterday was different. There were two women working -- each probably in their 60's.

I swear, they treated every person like family. They called them endearing names. Listened to what they needed, fulfilled the request and sent them off with a sweet salutation. You would have thought we were out in the country somewhere -- not in suburban Chicago!

It was really awesome to see. And I thought ... if only every one of us could treat the person standing in front of us that way every day .... what a wonderful world it would be!

So, if you are a salesperson, your job is not to sell a product or service to people -- your job is to love people, then they will buy if it is right for them.

If your job is as an accountant, it's not about the numbers, it is about loving the people around you who need your expertise with the numbers.

If your job is as a stay-at-home mom, your job is not all of the details and checking things off your to-do list ... it is to love your family. Serve them with love.

I assure you, if you focus on the love, everything else will be wonderful! If you need some help finding that spirit of love, let me know! I'd love to talk to you!
