This morning during my prayer time I received the message that I need to expand on the thought I gave you last night about how to focus on your positive thoughts ... because it is easier said than done.
Here is one way to do it. You can customize it for your personal preferences and beliefs.
Step 1. Notice the negative thoughts of hate, disgust or dislike.
This is the hardest part. We have to first be conscious enough to notice our thoughts. If you are thinking negative thoughts, know that those thoughts are not from your heart. They are from your head. Hate comes from your head, not your heart. Your heart is only capable of love.
Step 2. Move the negative thoughts from your head to your heart.
Imagine scooping up those thoughts from your mind with your hands and placing them in your heart. For those of you of faith, this where God lives. His love will immediately surround the negative thoughts and dissolve them. That should literally make you feel better. More peaceful.
You can get as creative with your removal process as you'd like. Maybe instead of using your hands, you'd like to imagine a garbage disposal that you flip on and the negative thoughts are sucked out of your head and down to your heart.
Whatever works for you!
Step 3. Repeat at the next negative thought.
Please know that it is natural for people to have negative thoughts. Don't think you're a bad person because you do. The problem comes when we allow ourselves to dwell in them and take action from them, instead of from love. That is why we need this tool to remove them.
