Always assume the best

Husbands and Wives ... Always Assume the Best intentions of each other. Wives, let's just imagine your husband says something to you that hurts your feelings. You think, "He should know that would hurt me." And you start a whole dialogue in your mind about why he said that to hurt you. Perhaps you even lash out at him. I would like to throw another scenario out there. What would it be like if you instead remembered that this guy loves you. He married you. He must NOT have known how it would make you feel, or he would not have said it. How would that positive assumption change the dynamic of that conversation? Would it inspire peace instead of conflict? Instead of lashing out at him, you could calmly ask him what he meant ... and I'll bet most of the time his explanation will make sense. Even if you don't agree with it ... it probably still makes sense and was not meant to hurt you.
