Yesterday at Mass Father Derek made a great point. During Advent, are we preparing for a DAY or are we preparing for a PERSON. He encouraged us to think about it.
I know I definitely lose sight of the fact that we are preparing for a person. It's so easy to get lost in the details of everything we have to do to create memories for our families that we temporarily forget WHY we are doing it.
I think this is also a great lesson for us moms, because we can sometimes get frustrated when things don't go just right. When the PERFECT Christmas doesn't happen. When someone gets sick or someone can't make it or someone is less than kind.
Let us take this moment to remember we are preparing for a person. That will help bring peace and joy to whatever the circumstance is.
