I used to dread Monday mornings. I think there have been different levels of dreading Mondays. As a kid, dreading going back to school, as an adult, dreading going back to work, as a young mom, dreading having my husband go back to work and losing my weekend helper. This is no way to live.
All of this was before I started working with a life coach and learning how to create a life that I love living.
I have come so far in the past 6 or so years in so many ways. But, one of my favorite things came just 11 months ago. That is the discovery that I can work out at home for only 30 minutes a day, instead of dragging myself to the gym for an hour.
Depending on what class I was taking, I wasn't showered and ready to start my day until 11:30 or so. Half the day was gone already!
Now I get up early to workout at home and shower before I bring the kids to school. That makes me so happy and gives me several extra hours each day. Ahhh...the gift of time.
If you, too, are seeking more time in your life, but you still want to fit that workout in, I would love to show you how. It is so important to be in love with your life. Don't waste time dreading things.
Mmmmm.....delicious mid-morning snack. Whole wheat bread, avocado and 2 eggs! That outta keep me going for a while! What is your go-to mid-morning snack ... and please don't say you don't have one!! We all know the key to keeping our metabolism humming is to eat small meals throughout the day. Starving yourself between meals will work in reverse!

Friends, if I could encourage you tonight in your efforts to achieve your health and fitness goals (or any goals, really) I would say please embrace the philosophy of IMPERFECT PROGRESS.
I get so sad when my clients think they have fallen off the wagon and they need to start all over again. They feel totally derailed. I think this mindset is harmful, because there is always, always, always going to be something to derail us -- too much work, a work trip, an emotional crisis, a sick child ... that's the stuff of life.
We are not here to do life perfectly. In fact, perfection isn't real. It only exists in Heaven. Instead of shooting for perfection, shoot for PROGRESS. And even then ... our progress isn't going to be perfect.
I wholeheartedly embrace Lysa TerKeurst's Quote: "Imperfect changes are slow steps of progress wrapped in grace ... imperfect progress!"
Yes, friends, wrap yourself in grace. Don't throw in the towel or think you need to start over. Just do your best each day! So, maybe your workout is 15 minutes instead of 30. Maybe you had a healthy breakfast and lunch, but dinner was not ... that's OK. Just take the next right step once you see you have gotten off your path.
You are on a journey to your best health, and it will never end until the day you meet your Maker!
When you do what you love it requires no force.
This applies to every aspect of your life. Let's look at it from a health and fitness perspective today.
Say you decide you need to lose 10 pounds, so you start a strict diet and exercise regime to do it. But it is hard and you feel like you are depriving yourself and you don't really like it. This is not setting you up for success. If you don't fall in love with the process of doing it, you will encounter resistance and go back to the old way of doing things.
Many of us have experienced this. Luckily there are many, many different types of health and fitness programs out there. You just have to find what works for you.
So, if you are struggling, don't give up. Just try something new.
I believe the reason for my success in finding my ideal weight was for this very reason! I fell in love with doing 30-minute workouts at home, getting it done first thing in the morning (I love that!), and finding a balanced eating plan that is delicious. I have developed a love for eating healthy! I also love getting up early to get my exercise done.
Going to the gym for an hour every day felt like force to me, but 30-minute workouts at home feel like freedom! I love my lifestyle!
If you are looking for some freedom and a love of your lifestyle, I'm starting a new health and fitness group on March 1st. If you are ready to try something new, just let me know.
I was so excited to hear from my friend Rachel yesterday that Shakeology filled her up and curbed her snacking! Yes!! This is the all-natural magic I speak of -- I thought you might like to hear it from someone other than me today!
I'm so grateful to Rachel for sharing this with me! It feels so good to help other moms feel good about themselves!
As always message me if you would like to try kicking your mindless snacking to the curb, too!
When I was a younger mom, I was exhausted all the time, and it frustrated me because I wanted to "get things done" and enjoy my children and my husband. But I never seemed to have enough energy to do it all.
I didn't understand why. I got enough sleep, ate pretty healthy and exercised 4 times a week. How could I be so darn tired all the time? I even went to the doctor to have my iron checked, assuming it must be low...nope...it was just fine.
So, for years, I supplemented my energy with Monster energy drinks. I hated the fact that it was all chemicals, but it worked. I needed it. I even tried Kombucha for a while.
That is until I overheard my friend talking about all of the energy she was getting from a natural nutrition shake called Shakeology.
I was so excited to try it! That's exactly what I was looking for -- natural energy -- not the kind that wears off after a short while and causes you to crash.
A few ingredients in Shakeology that can help boost energy include:
• Chia meal (seed): Supports energy endurance with omega-3 and -6 fats, protein, fiber, and essential trace minerals. It helps support high-energy endurance.
• Maca Powder (root): Known for its ability to help increase stamina and energy levels.
• Holy Basil Powder (leaf): May act as a powerful promoter of energy and athletic performance.
• Kamut Grass: Promotes high energy with protein, vitamins, and complex carbohydrates.
I am so excited to be able to share a healthy option for tired mamas. Please, if you are interested in trying it, let me know. I can set you up with some samples.

I had a tough choice to make this morning after my workout and shower. With no meetings or appointments, I could have worn workout clothes all day and been comfy ... or I could have dressed up like I did have somewhere to go. Sometimes I just want to be comfy, but today I wanted to feel dressed up...think I found something in between. I have found that I am more productive if I dress like I am going somewhere....even when I'm not. Plus it makes me feel good. What did you choose today?!
Friends, I believe in you. I see the best in you. You are amazing. Talented. Beautiful. Fun and funny. Smart. Dedicated. Loyal. ... I could go on... It is great that I think you are amazing, but do you think you are amazing? Be conscious of your thoughts today.
Some people create their own reality by saying things like, "I am so disorganized." Or "I am always late." Or "I am being lazy today."
You are not lazy, disorganized, always late or unmotivated unless you say you are. It's a self-fulfilling prophecy.
You become what you think about most of the time. So catch those negative thoughts. Dismiss them. Then replace them with something more positive.
