So I came downstairs this morning to find Tyler making mozzarella sticks ... for breakfast. 🤣 At first I said no, but then he made the rational argument that they are mostly cheese, and we are out of cheese sticks. 🤣 I swear, feeding a teenage boy is crazy!!! So I decided to drink to that! Made my self a frozen cafe latte in a margarita glass, complete with umbrella straw. Why not???
Don't wish for it. Work for it! I was thinking this morning about why some people are successful in achieving their health and fitness goals and why some aren't. Aside from biological issues, making your health a priority is essential to getting where you want to go! That's why I get up at the early hour of 5:00 a.m. My workouts are non-negotiable. I get them done before anything else can get in the way. If you are struggling to get your workouts in, take a look at your life and see what can go to make room for your workouts. When your doctor tells you he wants you to try to drink 2 protein shakes per day to heal and strengthen your back muscles! He was very specific about it because he wanted to make sure the shake had these 3 amino acids ... and in the proper ratio -- Isoleucine, leucine and valine. I came home to research it and BAM! Shakeology fits the bill! #winning!! Yum!!
I don't like to spend a lot of time making my lunch every day. So this weekend I threw some chicken breasts into the instant pot to pre-cook them for the week. Today I added some of it to my favorite superfood salad mix! In the picture you only see one container of greens, but I used two. I still use my containers to help me judge portion size. The bottom pic is the finished product! Yum! 5 minutes or less! What are you having for lunch today?!
This morning I asked Paul why he drinks Shakeology. Surprisingly he didn't say, "because you make me." 😂😂😂 He said, "because it is easy nutrition with healthy ingredients." As I finished getting dressed this morning, this wonderful feeling of joy washed over me. I'm on day 2 of a 3 day mini-cleanse and feeling fabulous as I have shed unwanted junk from my body and my jeans fit beautifully again! Not to mention my neck feels sooooo much better. What a relief. I have missed feeling good! I hope you feel good today, too!

Well, friends. I've had to take it down a notch over the past few days. I am having some hefty neck pain that is enjoying its stay. I'm about at my wits end with frustration, but I am getting help. I don't like to be held back physically. I can't do my regular workouts without a lot of pain, but to do nothing physically is not good either. When I keep lightly active, I think the muscles stay warmer and less uncomfortable. Today I chose some super gentle yoga. Took it real slow. Real slow. Focused on my breathing. This is actually really important. Many times when we are in pain or stressed out, we breath more shallow and even hold our breath--without realizing it. This little yoga session allowed me to focus on my breathing, which circulates oxygen to all of my muscles. They need that to heal. I guess I'm sharing this, because I wanted to share the reminder about breathing when you are in pain or stressed out. As odd as it sounds, it's actually really important!! #3weekyogaretreat
